Gani Nyghymetov was born in 1983 in the Aktobe region. He graduated from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (specialist in international relations), the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in the USA (Master of Public Administration), as well as the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business (Master of Business Administration). He completed executive training programs at the Harvard Kennedy School and the National University of Singapore.
Labor path
He began his career as an intern at the headquarters of the United Nations Development Programme in New York.
From 2007 to 2009, he worked as a project manager in the Public Administration Department of the National Analytical Center under the Government and National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2010 to 2013, he served as Director of the Department of International Cooperation at Nazarbayev University and Deputy General Director of the Center for Energy Research at Nazarbayev University.
From 2013 to 2016, he was President of JSC "Center for International Programs" under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2016 to 2018, he worked as Executive Director of LLP "Center for Strategic Initiatives" and Director of LLP "Institute of Eurasian Integration."
From 2018 to May 2020, he held the positions of Deputy Head and Head of the Internal Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2020 to 2022, he served as Deputy Akim of the North Kazakhstan Region.
In 2022, he was appointed State Inspector of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since January 2023, he has worked as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
